Tarshai Peterson is a theatre educator, artist, and youth advocate with over a decade of experience in arts education. She has served as a Certified Theatre Educator, Teaching Artist, Director, Playwright, Curriculum Writer, and Mentor Teacher in schools and arts organizations across Maryland and beyond. As the Founder and Creative Director of The Treasure Box LLC, Tarshai is dedicated to creating spaces where young people can imagine, play, and thrive—fostering academic growth, creative expression, and holistic well-being through the power of the arts.
As an artist, she is an accomplished actress, storyteller, and playwright for theatre for young audiences. Guided by her belief that the arts have the power to heal and bring joy, Tarshai strives to be a magnet of light—cultivating experiences where children and teens not only discover their talents but also learn to treasure their own voices and value.
Tarshai holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Bennett College and a Master’s in Educational Theatre from New York University. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
